What a picture of the Lord! He is a comforter, a leader and someone who we can trust in. Even when things don’t go the way we expect He can be counted on! He helps us to live “right” lives with good actions (v 3) which suggests a needed change in our lives. I long to dwell in the house of the Lord forever – don’t you? Now this isn’t church, but the place where God’s presence actually dwells. In this Psalm this is likely the temple. For us, this presence is within us, but only as a deposit of what is to come – the Holy Spirit is a deposit of the Spirit of God and His glory within us, but one day we will see the glory of God in person and it will overwhelm us and cause us to worship forever.
