Psalm 29

When I read this Psalm, it sends me down paths of meandering that make me amazed at the power of God.  His voice does things!  No, not like “hurting people’s feelings” or “enforcing a rule” or “striking fear into all that hear it (like Donald Trump or Simon Cowell).”  Nope, His voice “breaks the cedars of Lebanon” or “shakes the wilderness” or “makes the deer give birth.”  Okay, okay, the last one isn’t as impressive perhaps, but God’s voice has real power.  As I have mentioned so many times before, the world is voice-activated (pretty neat) and John tells us that the voice of God, the very words of God (logos) became flesh on our behalf.  Once we begin to understand this truth, we will see that His voice and words have tremendous power!  He speaks and things happen – He calls us His children, what does that mean to you?
