Moses has the opportunity to see the glory of the Lord – and even the back of God's glory makes Moses' face glow like the sun. After this, the Ark and tabernacle are crafted – almost as a response to this glorious face. What was your perspective as you read how God passed before Moses? What about when Moses covered his face from the people?

I think it is cool how God comes in a cloud... clouds are sooo cool!!! I did think it was a little weird how Moses covered his face, but if the people were scared of it... i guess it had to be done:) I thought it was funny in verse one of exodus 34 that God says "I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke" I could just imagine God sitting up in heaven crying saying-- "you broke them...you broke them" I don't know, just an image.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good image, to think of the Israelites saying, "All that the LORD has said we will do" and then just a few days later having those very things He gave them to do lying shattered on the ground. It would be heart breaking.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I always imagined that the reason the people were scared of the light coming from Moses' face was because it was a constant reminder of His meeting with God to receive the Law. The law that they had so quickly and so carelessly broken.
